You may be eligible for study permit exemptions if
You plan to take a course or program in Canada that is 6 months or less
You are a family member of a foreign representative to Canada
You are a family member of foreign armed forces under the Visiting Forces Act.
You are a member of a foreign national who is a Registered Indian in Canada
International students can now work full time
In addition, the following cases (individuals) may not always require a study permit to study in Canada.
Minor children attending kindergarten.
Minor children who are refugees or refugee claimants, or whose parents are refugees or refugee’s claimants.
Minor children who are already in Canada with parents who are permitted to work or study in Canada, and wish to attend preschool, primary, or secondary school
Minor children studying in Canada without a permit must apply for a study permit when they reach the age of majority (18 or 19, depending on the province or territory) if they want to continue studying.
In some cases, parents may decide to send their child to Canada on his or her own to study. When minors travel alone, they must obtain a study permit.
